but the world will surely change for that one dog"
Info on adopting a Weimaraner through a rescue organization:
Weimaraners in need of adoptive homes can be any age-untrained puppies, young juveniles, or mature, older dogs. The dogs that come through a rescue organization will have a temperament evaluation before being placed in a new home.
Prospective homes are also screened to make sure they are best suited for a particular dogs needs. The goal is for permanence and stability in the new home. It is unfair to the dog to adjust to multiple home situations. The dog's needs are priority in selecting adoptive homes.
The information on our Breeder Referral page about life with a Weimaraner is particularly helpful if you are wanting to bring a Weimaraner into your family. They are a high energy dog that needs a lot of attention and daily exercise. They are not for everybody!
